22 Day Strokes Challenge//Day 1: How did you get into the strokes?

My friend made a mixed CD in high school that included Take It Or Leave It. I loved it so much I made her replay it over and over again in her car as we would skip school and drive to random places. I then began downloading a bunch of their songs from Limewire (lol) until I asked for FIOE for Christmas around 2008. My friend got it for me, and I thought the album was ~okay~ but then one day I randomly popped it into my car stereo as I was driving to work and I think I listened to it for three weeks straight until I realized, wow - these guys are amazing. I bought their CDs from Amazon and I needed to know everything I could about them - I stayed up until 3 and 4 in the morning reading every interview on shesfixingherhair, watching every video on youtube, and when that was over I joined the fan forum hardtoexplain (which is now toxic-radio.org) and my fandom just blossomed from there.
